Book Review: Blood and Money by Thomas Thompson (The Joan Robinson Hill murder)

blood-and-money

Another great book by Thomas Thompson. This is the true story of the murder of Joan Robinson Hill and her family’s quest for justice. Her husband, Dr. John Hill, was tried for her poisoning death, but his trial ended in a mistrial. A new trial was scheduled, but Hill was murdered at his front door. Or at least, it is presumed that it was Hill who was murdered. There are rumors that he faked his death (had someone else murdered in his place) so he would not face another murder trial and his troubles with the IRS. It is truly an intense, heartbreaking story, which the author writes so well about. He did a lot of research and well-thought out. I enjoyed this book, and recommend it to others who read true crime.
