Lori Drew was convicted today in federal court of 3 misdemeanors. However, jurors could not agree on a verdict for the main charge, the conspiracy charge so the Judge declared a mistrial. No word yet if they will refile that charge against her. The jury went with the 3 misdemeanors rather than the felonies (which would have given her around 20 years in prison). For each of the misdemeanors, she faces one year in prison and a $100,000 fine. While she may not have been convicted on the harshest charge, this case should show people that cyberbullying in any form is not using good judgment and can be prosecuted. Now if they will only pass laws that would be more appropriate for this type of case.
